Overview

The Corporate Director of Sales, Transitions and Special Projects primary responsibility is to support transitions and the implementation of all HEI sales and marketing initiatives, sales training curriculum, and support to the hotel sales teams with transition related tasks. The leader will fill in for the Director of Sales or open sales positions at transitions and lead with identifying key sales strategies, transition initiatives and HEI sales rhythms are set.

The Sales Transitions Leader will utilize their skills to mentor, train, develop staff, and maximize optimal revenue business mix and fund objectives. The Transitions Director of Sales will travel to their respective transition properties to ensure the coordination of property sales efforts/processes are implemented. The leader works closely with the enterprise, centralized and corporate team to ensure process and policies are complied with and best practices leveraged. Assignments can vary from 2-5 hotels at one time depending on complexity and size to include special hotel projects as well. Transitions will require extensive travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify key opportunities with VP/SVP of Sales and ensure adherence to and tracking of key transition goals

  • Provide strategic leadership and assist property leader with creation of strategic plans, training of HEI tools and rhythms to align with transition plans

  • Fill in for property sales leader in the absence of one to ensure all daily sales rhythms are in place

  • Promote organizational alignment by ensuring that HEI sales and marketing strategies are understood and implemented

  • Assist property sales leaders with the creation of the strategic plan through proper sales and catering deployment to achieve the optimal business targets

  • Manage through people and processes utilizing reliable tools, and leveraging resources of the brands and company

  • Be a liaison for the property sales teams in delivering key corporate sales initiatives through clear on-going communication

  • Assign clear accountability, provide both the authority and resource, and monitor implementation to assure success and results

  • Ensure effective communication processes are in place

  • Work with all departments to ensure proper set up of systems and processes

  • Build effective working relationships with internal (regional teams, corporate resources) and external groups (customers, partners)

  • Provide continual mentoring, coaching, and developing of our property sales teams including increased accountability after clear expectations are delivered

  • Transfer functional knowledge and develop sales and marketing skills of other discipline managers

  • Possess a working understanding of financial and development opportunities

  • Demonstrated success in evaluating risks and developing proactive strategies and plans to mitigate business issues

  • Ability to read, interpret and recommend changes and strategies as it pertains to: financial statement, forecast process, and brand revenue management reports

  • Vast knowledge of food and beverage sales and cost management strategies in order to lead B&C teams at hotels

  • Analysis of market performance and potential to be applied to optimal segmentation and deployment of each hotel

  • Be an advocate of the company's Mission, Vision and Values on a consistent basis with hotel teams

  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis

  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration, Marketing, Business or relevant field preferred

  • 10+ of progressive sales and marketing experience within the hospitality industry

  • Multi-brand and multi-city experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Requires excellent knowledge in sales, marketing, public relations, and revenue management with advanced skills in the direct sales process, revenue management processes and Marketing/PR procedures and processes

  • Advanced skills in leadership, strategic sales planning, analyzing/interpreting data, multi-tasking, organizational skills and communication

  • Ability to manage associates to improve performance and support Talent Acquisition and development via the HEI platform

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, command of the written language both written and verbal

  • Self-driven with a high level of attention to detail and ability to work on own

  • Knowledge of at least 2 major brand Sales systems including CVENT

Compensation

Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 Annually Tipped/Service Charge Eligible? No Discretionary Performance Bonus Eligible? No
