Colonial Christian School, a FACCS fully accredited school, is seeking to hire an enthusiastic History teacher to join our dedicated team
|
|
Responsibilities
|
Instruction and Curriculum
- Plan and deliver effective history and social studies lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
- Teach subjects that may include World History, United States History, Geography, Civics, Government, and related social studies topics.
- Integrate a biblical worldview into instruction, helping students evaluate historical events and cultural developments through the lens of Scripture.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including discussions, primary source analysis, projects, presentations, and technology-enhanced learning.
- Encourage critical thinking, research skills, historical inquiry, and respectful discussion of diverse perspectives.
- Assess student learning through tests, quizzes, essays, projects, presentations, and other formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and administration.
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a positive, organized, and Christ-centered classroom environment.
- Implement effective classroom management practices that promote student engagement, responsibility, and respect.
- Foster an atmosphere where students feel valued and encouraged to grow academically and spiritually.
Spiritual Leadership
- Demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and model Christian character in daily interactions.
- Lead students in prayer, devotions, and discussions that encourage spiritual growth.
- Integrate biblical principles and character development into classroom instruction and student relationships.
- Support and uphold the school's mission, statement of faith, and Christian values.
Professional Responsibilities
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development activities, and school events as required.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum, instruction, and student success.
- Maintain professional communication and positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
- Participate in school functions, chapel services, supervision duties, and extracurricular activities as assigned.

Qualifications
|
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
- Highly developed oral & written communication skills
- Ability to build relationships effectively & professionally with families & students
- Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, standing, & moving throughout the classroom
- Active member of their church
|
