Position Summary

The Buyer I is responsible for procuring goods and services in support of business operations while ensuring cost effectiveness, quality, and on-time delivery. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support day-to-day purchasing activities and continuous improvement of the procurement process.


Key Responsibilities


  • Review and process purchase requisitions in accordance with company policies and procedures



  • Identify qualified suppliers and solicit bids, quotes, and proposals



  • Evaluate supplier pricing, terms, and capabilities; negotiate to achieve best value



  • Create and manage purchase orders and contracts within SAP



  • Track and expedite orders to meet project and operational timelines



  • Resolve supplier issues related to pricing, quality, or delivery discrepancies



  • Maintain supplier relationships and support supplier performance evaluations



  • Ensure accurate documentation and data entry within procurement systems




Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field



  • 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role



  • Working knowledge of procurement processes and best practices



  • 1-3 years of SAP experience in a purchasing environment



  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills



  • High attention to detail and accuracy



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel



  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment




Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications


  • Experience with ERP or procurement software



  • Familiarity with contract management principles



  • Knowledge of supply chain logistics and inventory management



  • Procurement or supply chain certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM)
