Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Buyer to join our Purchasing team. This role is responsible for sourcing and procuring aerospace materials, hardware, shop supplies, and components while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience working in aerospace or manufacturing environments and be familiar with industry standards, supplier management, and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities



  • Procure aerospace materials, components, hardware, tooling, and end unit purchases to support production and operational requirements
  • Create, manage, and expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and production continuity
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while evaluating vendor performance related to quality, pricing, and delivery
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency
  • Coordinate with production, planning, quality, engineering, and inventory teams to support Repair/Overhaul schedules and customer requirements
  • Monitor inventory levels and support inventory control initiatives
  • Resolve supplier discrepancies, shortages, quality issues, and delivery concerns in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation within Quantum Control and purchasing systems
  • Support compliance with aerospace quality standards and company purchasing procedures
  • Analyze purchasing trends and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction


Qualifications



  • 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or a related industry required
  • Experience purchasing aerospace materials, machined parts, hardware, or outside processing services preferred
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, and vendor management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced aerospace repair station environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with Access, Quantum Control, and ILS systems preferred
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred

  • Familiarity with aerospace documentation and quality requirements
  • Understanding of inventory management and production planning concepts
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical documentation and part specifications
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability
