Posting Summary
Niu Lab in Biomedical Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join our research group at Rutgers University to work on a project funded by the New Jersey Spinal Cord Injury Commission. The successful candidate will lead the development of next-generation wearable devices specifically designed for spinal cord injury applications. This role involves the end-to-end development of advanced sensor systems, from the physical fabrication of flexible printed circuit boards (FPCBs) to the implementation of machine learning algorithms for real-time signal analysis. The postdoc will collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment, managing laboratory resources and producing high-quality progress reports and publications.

Minimum Education and Experience
PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
Proven track record of research in flexible electronics, wireless power transfer, or physiological signal monitoring.
Experience with academic writing and a history of contributing to technical progress reports or peer-reviewed journals.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Hardware Design: Expertise in designing and fabricating flexible printed circuit boards (FPCB) and integrating them with biosensing frontends.
Computational Analysis: Strong skills in developing biosignal processing algorithms and implementing machine learning models for data interpretation.
Technical Oversight: Ability to monitor complex data collection processes and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive medical data.
Laboratory Management: Skills in controlling the stock of supplies and maintaining specialized laboratory equipment.
