We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Accounting & Compliance Coordinator to join the corporate headquarters of a well-established and growing financial technology organization located in Houston's Galleria area. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where accounting, operations, compliance, and business support come together to drive organizational success.

As a key member of the team, you'll help support the financial health and regulatory standing of a multi-state organization while partnering with leadership on critical operational initiatives. This position goes beyond traditional accounts payable responsibilities and provides exposure to a wide range of accounting, compliance, and administrative functions.

What You'll Do
Accounting & Financial Operations


  • Support and oversee day-to-day accounts payable activities, including coordination with offshore support teams



  • Manage vendor onboarding and maintenance processes



  • Process and monitor ACH payments, wire transfers, check runs, and payment requests



  • Assist with 1099 reporting and year-end vendor compliance requirements



  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies and vendor inquiries



  • Support employee expense reporting and reimbursement processes



  • Assist with payroll administration and related accounting functions



  • Perform account reconciliations and support month-end activities as needed




Compliance & Corporate Administration


  • Track and maintain Certificates of Insurance (COIs)



  • Coordinate property tax appraisals, business renditions, and related filings



  • Assist with state licensing, registrations, and regulatory compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions



  • Maintain organized and accurate legal, corporate, and financial records



  • Handle sensitive company information with the highest level of confidentiality




Business & Team Support


  • Serve as a professional point of contact for internal departments, executive leadership, vendors, and external partners



  • Communicate effectively regarding payment status, compliance requirements, and financial documentation



  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase operational efficiency



  • Support special projects and additional accounting or administrative initiatives as assigned




What We're Looking For


  • Bachelor's degree required



  • 5+ years of Accounts Payable or related accounting experience



  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and reconciliations



  • Experience managing confidential financial and personnel information



  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision



  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills



  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel



  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferred



  • Experience with licensing, insurance tracking, regulatory compliance, or corporate administration strongly preferred
