Position Purpose: The Assembler will work from drawings, written instructions, parts lists, and other resources to include Engineering and Manafacturing to complete all assigned tasks. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assembles or fabricates mechanical parts, pieces, or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line in a manufacturing organization.
- Reads, interprets, and follows basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
- Performs assembly work using hand-held tools and soldering equipment, and ensures the products meet quality standards, performing quality work checks.
- Keeps inventory of products in workstations maintained.
Identifies product defects and completes appropriate documentation. Reworks or repairs assembled equipment and products, following engineering specification changes. Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures. Maintains a clean and safe work area.
Required Knowledge,Skills, & Abilities:
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills to understand assembly instructions and measurements. Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and part diagrams
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instrument

Clearance:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to Top Secret
- Minimum clearance level is DoD Interim Secret
Working Conditions/Equipment:
- Primary work performed in an office environment; must be flexible to work nights and weekends as needed to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment as required.
- May occasionally be required to perform work in laboratory environments in accordance with established safety protocols.
- Ability to remain seated at a computer workstation for extended periods.
