Job Description

Agile Defense is seeking a Junior System Administrator to join our team supporting a mission-critical federal law enforcement program. In this role, you will help operate and maintain secure, high-availability networks and systems that directly enable national criminal justice operations. You'll play a hands-on role in the operation, deployment, testing, integration and maintenance of infrastructure and software environments, all while working within a dynamic Project Management Office (PMO).


This position offers the opportunity to engage with a wide range of technical challenges-from virtualization to scripting to system interoperability while supporting law enforcement professionals in the field and across the nation.

Required Skills

  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of the organization's IT systems and applications.
  • Assists in the installation, maintenance, and general support of IT systems.
  • Identify and resolve problems associated with operating systems.
  • Analyze and resolve problems associated with server hardware/software and applications software.
  • Detect, diagnose, and report related problems on both server and desktop IT systems.
  • Assist users with questions or issues related to accessing and using IT systems.
  • Install new software releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves software related problems.
  • Deploy monthly Microsoft updates and third-party patches to mitigate security risks.
  • Monitor health and performance of devices in the enterprise.
  • Perform system backup and recovery procedures.
  • Assist with operation and maintenance of issuing Certification Authorities, including monitoring system health, supporting Certificate Revocation List (CRL) publication processes, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Create and maintain network and system infrastructure diagrams.
  • Ensure technical documentation exists for all systems and is kept up to date to include inventory and patch levels of all systems to include hostnames, property numbers, IP addresses, enclave, number of cores, number of processors, admin passwords, certificates, and service accounts on a monthly interval.
  • Respond to and investigate cybersecurity incidents in coordination with the Information System Security team.
  • Support and manage physical, virtual and hyperconverged environments.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and migrate Windows Server and SQL Server software.

Preferred Skills
CompTIA Security+ and/or CCNA certification
