TITLE: Wind Project Engineer EMPLOYER: AES Clean Energy Services, LLC LOCATION: Louisville, CO (Full-time telecommuting permitted, 25% travel required to project sites) DUTIES: Conduct Due Diligence for M&A Projects: Perform thorough reviews of potential merger and acquisition projects or portfolios, assessing risks, opportunities, and overall feasibility. Lead Project Planning and Development: Oversee and coordinate the early stages of project development, including feasibility studies, site selection, and preliminary design to ensure alignment with strategic goals and profitability targets. Provide Constructability Guidance: Offer expert support to the prospecting team by evaluating project designs for constructability, ensuring practical and efficient execution. Develop Preliminary Balance of Plant (BOP) Designs: Create initial designs for site civil work, turbine foundations, electrical collection systems, substations, and generation tie-lines. Perform Micro- Siting Activities: Optimize placement of turbines, road layouts, electrical collection routes, and substation/switchyard locations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Review and Negotiate Contracts: Lead the negotiation of BOP and Turbine Supply Agreements (TSA), ensuring favorable terms and conditions for project success. Conduct Design and Change Order Reviews: Review BOP and switchyard designs, evaluate contractor change order requests, and provide oversight to maintain project quality and compliance. Ensure Safe and High-Quality Project Execution: Guide construction efforts to ensure work is performed safely, meets quality standards, remains within budget, and is completed on or ahead of schedule. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any field), or a related field. and 3 years of experience in wind system design, development, construction and analysis. Also requires OSHA 10-hr or comparable job-site safety certification.
Job requires 3 years of experience in each of the following:
SALARY: The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $108,000 to $145,000 USD/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes annual bonus. The benefits offered for this position are: medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, 401(k) eligibility, and paid time off (including vacation, sick leave time, and parental leave).
