Under supervision of the Director of the Pacific Southwest Center of Excellence in Vector-Borne Diseases, this position is responsible for designing outreach materials, preparing regular reports on center activities, evaluating center programs, and planning meetings and training programs for the center. Duties will require working closely with many center partners in the Pacific Southwest region, including researchers, public-health agencies, vector-control agencies, and other collaborating organizations. Functions as a community resource, provides leadership to PacVec collaborators and acts as subject matter expert for the center.
This position is eligible for hybrid or remote work.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelors degree in a public health-related field or a Bachelor's degree in any field with work experience in a public health-related field.
- Experience with program administration and development or assessment of educational curricula or programs.
- Experience as a project coordinator, research or academic training program coordinator, event planner or similar role.
- Evidence of ability to work independently to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple complex and detailed projects, adapt to changing work priorities, and perform interrelated tasks.
- Skills to multi-task with demanding time frames.
- Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with faculty, staff, students, and other center partners while maintaining a highly service-oriented approach in the unit and work seamlessly with center partners and other school and campus units.
- Writing, editing and proofreading skills to produce reports, outreach materials, and correspondence with knowledge of or ability to learn center-relevant scientific subject matter related to vector-borne diseases.
- Ability to interpret and adhere to federal and private grant terms and conditions, budget allowances, reporting requirements, and policies regarding use of grant funds.

Department Overview
The Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology is one of six academic departments in the School of Veterinary Medicine; it provides a unique and critical linkage between the basic and clinical sciences. The mission of the department is the effective integration of the disciplines of immunology, microbiology (including bacteriology, parasitology and virology) and pathology (both anatomic and clinical) into the teaching, research, and service programs of the school and campus. Through this mission, the department promotes the understanding of causes and diagnosis of disease in animals and the mechanisms by which diseases develop at the organismal, cellular and molecular, and, increasingly, genetic levels. The correlated applied (translational) mission is to advance the use of morphologic, microbiologic, biochemical, genetic, and immunologic methods for diagnosis and prevention of disease.
