The Shipping Receiving coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all shipping and receiving operations while ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining accurate inventory management, and optimizing logistics efficiency. This position serves as a key liaison between internal departments, external customers, and carriers while maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards. This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage all shipments of finished goods and raw materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery

  • Oversee Transportation Management System (TMS) operations to optimize freight costs and carrier efficiency

  • Process and maintain electronic transactions in JD Edwards/Oracle (Prism) system ensuring accurate inventory records

  • Supports warehouse operations and inventory control

  • *Participates in and/or coordinates regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies

  • *Provide monthly inventory and performance reporting to Management and Accounting

  • Process all shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, export documentation, and customs paperwork

  • Coordinate with carriers for scheduling and maintain strong vendor relationships

  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding shipment status and special requests

  • *Ensure adequate material stocking at production equipment and manage inventory levels

  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety policies and ISO standards

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety protocols

  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • Experience in warehouse management systems a plus

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication abilities

  • Customer service oriented

  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)

  • Mathematical skills for inventory counting

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong computer skills

  • Understanding of safety protocols

  • Ability to work overtime on short notice

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Must pass pre-employment assessment

  • Drug screening required

  • Background check required

  • Export/import regulations

  • Software systems (TMS, Prism, FedEx/UPS)

  • Communication and interpersonal skills

  • Multitask effectively

  • Work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities

Physical Demands: The associate will work in warehouse but may be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to:

  • Must be able to lift and handle objects weighing up to 60 pounds

  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Ability to climb, twist, reach, and bend

  • Proficiency in grasping, pushing, pulling

  • Operating material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jacks)

  • Visual acuity to read documents and computer screens

  • Safe use of ladders and stairs

  • Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)

Travel Requirements: Travel is not required in this position.

Work Conditions: The majority of tasks will be performed in a warehouse setting with interactions with manufacturing environment and potential exposure to:

  • Noise levels above 85 dB

  • Operation of material handling equipment

  • Solvents, fumes and inks

  • Variable Temperatures

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts

  • Work schedule is Monday - Friday; 40 hour day shift flex schedule.

  • Must be in good standing with no disciplinary action or attendance issues within last 120 days

  • Must be performer or higher in last review
