Description

Markon is seeking an AI/ML Engineer 2 to support the Fort Meade Customer through the design, development, and deployment of advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions. This role applies machine learning techniques, deep learning models, and data science methodologies to solve complex mission challenges and enable data-driven decision making. The position works closely with software engineers, data scientists, and mission stakeholders to develop scalable, operational AI/ML capabilities.



Responsibilities

    Design, develop, train, and deploy machine learning and artificial intelligence models
  • Apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and deep learning techniques to mission challenges
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights
  • Develop, optimize, and evaluate predictive models and AI/ML algorithms
  • Integrate AI/ML capabilities into operational systems and applications
  • Support model testing, validation, deployment, and lifecycle management activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative AI-driven solutions
  • Develop technical documentation, briefings, and reports related to AI/ML initiatives
  • Research emerging AI/ML technologies and recommend solutions to enhance mission capabilities


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Advanced Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Deep Learning, or a related technical field
  • 5 years of experience in applied machine learning supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • 5 additional years of AI/ML experience with a relevant Bachelor's degree may be substituted for a Master's degree
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow
  • Strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling techniques
  • Experience programming in Python and working with data science toolsets
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced mission environment
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with large language models (LLMs), generative AI, or natural language processing
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community or Department of Defense missions
  • Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms and distributed computing environments
  • Experience deploying AI/ML solutions within scalable production architectures
  • Familiarity with MLOps, model monitoring, and automated deployment pipelines


Salary Range

USD $190,000.00 - USD $205,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
