Job Title:Team Lead, Loan Coordinator Job Description:

Summary:

The Loan Coordinator Team Lead (LC Lead) is responsible for the monitoring and management of workflow through the designated team. This includes tracking the turn-time of assigned tasks to both the Sr. Loan Coordinator and Loan Coordinator associates. The LC Lead is also the primary trainer for all onboarding tasks for new associates that join their assigned team, as well as for any additional training needs that may be required. The LC Lead will also serve as the subject matter expert for complex C&I and CRE loan relationships, as well as for the Bank's niche lending areas. They will be the primary back-up for the LC Manager when they are unavailable and will also serve as a point of contact for senior managers.

The LC Lead will also have, to an extent, the responsibilities of a Sr. Loan Coordinator, which is summarized as follows. Responsible for the data integrity of customer and loan information as it is populated within loan applications and product packages. They are the primary associate that works alongside the Relationship Manager (RM), in a collaborative fashion in the generation of new loan requests, renewals, modifications or other customer requests within the Bank's loan origination system. These loan requests will primarily be the more complex relationships and include loans from the Bank's niche lending groups. They will act as the primary liaison between other supporting departments within the Bank such as, Compliance, Deposit Operations, Loan Documentation, Loan Servicing and Post Closing Review. Additionally, they will develop strong working relationships with the Bank's external customer base, as well as with third party vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and manages the work load for the team to ensure loans move efficiently and effectively through the loan process. Ensures service level agreements are met on a consistent basis.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for issues and questions by their assigned Loan Coordinator Team and Relationship Manager group
  • Maintains strong knowledgeable of the Bank's "credit culture" and advises the Relationship Manager on deviations from standard practices.

  • Assists Loan Coordinator Manager with annual reviews and the development of training and progression plans for the respective team.

  • Acts as the primary "trainer" for the onboarding of new associates and may serve as a backup trainer for other teams.

  • Approves timesheets and time off requests to ensure adequate coverage is maintained.

  • Serves as a back-up to the Loan Coordinator Manager as needed.

  • Investigates and makes recommendations regarding methods to improve competitiveness and effectiveness in loan process.

  • Assists the Loan Coordinators with booking and funding attorney documented loans.

  • Prepares monthly monitoring reports for Units and RM Team.

  • Manage and maintains a small caseload (10 -15 loans per month).

  • Interacts, both verbal and written, with clients per Relationship Manager's direction on collecting data, documents and various general customer service requests.

  • Participates on internal committees and task forces as requested by the Manager.

  • Performs other essential duties of the Senior Loan Coordinator.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Recent exposure and success in leading a process and/or individuals
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility, versatility, commitment and good judgment in team oriented environment.
  • Strong Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and other proprietary bank systems.
  • Must be independent and able to work under tight deadlines and possesses strong organizational skills

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Assists Loan Coordinator Manager in managing the Loan Coordinators

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates Degree is preferred
  • Minimum 7 years' Consumer and Commercial Loan Coordinator experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of C&I, CRE and Consumer lending processes and procedures.
  • Previous exposure to attorney prepared documentation

Computer and Software Skills:

  • Skilled in operation of a personal computer, including Microsoft Office
