The Center for Faculty Wellbeing and Development seeks a Director of Faculty Mentoring. The Center for Faculty Wellbeing and Development, a unit of the Office of the Provost, provides mentoring support and resources, leadership development programs, coaching for faculty leaders and faculty discerning their career progression, support for faculty search and promotion committees, faculty workload support for faculty affairs leaders across the University, and faculty development programs using applied theater to promote thriving workplaces and classrooms through UVA Acts. In addition, the Center for Faculty Wellbeing and Development serves as a hub for faculty, collaborating with offices across the University such as the Faculty Employee Assistance Program, the Ombuds Office, and the Office of Wisdom and Wellbeing in UVA Health. The Director of Faculty Mentoring will report to the Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development/Director of the Center for Faculty Wellbeing and Development. The Director will lead and expand current mentoring programs while also collaborating with Deans, Associate Deans, and Department Chairs across the University to develop and support faculty mentoring programs based in evidence-based best practices for mentoring across diverse disciplines and all ranks of faculty. The Director will serve as an expert and consultant for departmental and school leadership as well as directing and leading programs to create a network of effective faculty mentoring across the entire University. They will assess current and future programs rigorously and track the impact of programs across faculty careers. Responsibilities:

Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. The anticipated hiring range is $80,000-$100,000, commensurate with education and experience. This is an exempt-level, benefited position. Learn more about UVA benefits. This is a restricted position, which is dependent on funding and is contingent upon funding availability. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
