Position Title: Coach, Cross Country & WoPosition Type: RegularAbout the Role: The Head Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Coach reports directly to the Associate Athletics Director-Operations & Event Management and is responsible for the organization and administration of the men's and women's track & field and cross-country programs in accordance with the rules and regulations of the University, Horizon League and NCAA.The Head Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Coach must have a commitment to developing a competitive NCAA Division I track & field and cross-country program, while maintaining an emphasis on the academic success of the student-athlete. They will also be expected to assist in administering the program in a manner that promotes the health, safety and welfare of the student-athletes. Compliance with NCAA rules is of the utmost importance at Northern Kentucky University. As a member of the athletics department staff, it is expected that the Head Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Coach will have a full understanding of the NCAA rules that pertain to the position. It is also expected that the Head Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Coach will comply with all NCAA rules and if he/she becomes aware, or have reasonable cause to believe, that a violation of a rule has occurred he/she will immediately report it to the Director of Athletics or his/her designee. Primary Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and oversee all in-season and out-of-season practices and training sessions, including team and individual workouts designed to maximize student-athlete performance, with an emphasis on the development of athletic skills necessary to compete successfully at the NCAA Division I level. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience required.
