Description

The Staff Research Associate I will assist in preparation,
management and daily use of critical laboratory resources including frozen
human tissue bank, hybridomas and human cell line stocks. This position will entail the isolation of
biological materials, (DNA, RNA and protein) from precious human tissues, cell
lines and xenografts. High quality management and cataloging of these resources
using relational computer database will be required. The job will entail a large amount of tissue
culture work, including cell maintenance type work, as well as cell
proliferation assays. In addition, the position will require the generation of
Western blots, PCR, RT-PCR assay, DNA gel electrophoresis, PCR product
purification, DNA gel isolation, generation of expression vectors through
molecular cloning, including DNA mini & maxiprep and restriction enzyme
digestion. Generation of cell line clones through molecular cloning and
lentiviral system will also be required.

Salary Range: $30.12 - $35.92 Hourly (Effective 07/06/2026)

Qualifications

All Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of
    education and experience
  • 0-1 year of experience in Biology, Microbiology, or related
    area

  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet internal deadlines,
    work independently, use judgment and make decisions
  • Ability to organize and update paperwork with supervision
  • Ability to Maintain proper usage of laboratory equipment
  • Experience in culture tissue procedures
  • Ability to perform gel electrophoresis
  • Ability to organize raw data into relevant formats such as
    PowerPoint slides.
  • Ability to communicate well, work in a team environment
    organized and must be able to keep detailed notebook.
  • Experience working with mouse xenograft models of cancer
  • Expertise monitoring of drug efficacy and toxicity of novel
    anti-cancer compounds
  • Experience preferred tissue culture, cell maintenance type
    work as well as cell proliferations assays.
  • Experience with both two- and three-dimensional drug
    response assays
  • Skills in isolation of biological materials, (DNA, RNA and
    Protein) from precious human tissues and cell lines as well as the cataloging
    and management of resources using relational computer database.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned,
    including but not limited to those outlined above.
