- One-year certificate from a technical school, or 3 years of welding experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Welding certification preferred.
- Ability to pass ASME certification requirements, including a 3" 304 schedule 40 6G pipe test and a " 304 schedule 10 6G pipe test (company-paid certification provided).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, procedure manuals, and technical instructions.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions and apply practical problem-solving in standardized situations.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and precision in weld work.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, procedures, and production needs.
- Commitment to safety procedures and proper use of tools, materials, and equipment.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and frequently move, bend, kneel, and reach.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Comfortable working in environments with fumes, airborne particles, extreme heat, and exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Ability to work around moving mechanical parts and occasional outdoor conditions.
- Moderate noise work environment conditions.

What A Shift Looks Like (Job Duties)
- Read and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, and work orders to complete welding assignments.
- Set up and prepare work areas for fabrication to maximize efficiency and workflow.
- Cut, grind, and prepare metal components to the required specifications prior to welding.
- Position, clamp, and secure parts using fixtures, work benches, floor setups, and support stands.
- Fabricate jigs when production volume requires repeatable assembly setups.
- Perform TIG welding primarily on stainless steel pipe, with occasional work on other metals and processes.
- Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions as required by the job.
- Follow the company welding procedure specifications to ensure weld quality and consistency.
- Set up welding equipment in accordance with procedure requirements and perform basic maintenance and diagnostics.
- Safely handle, move, and connect gas cylinders to fabrication equipment.
- Lay out, tack weld, and assemble workpieces prior to final welding.
- Inspect welds for bead size, quality, and conformance to specifications.
- Remove or repair weld discontinuities before continuing fabrication processes.
- Clean, degrease, and prepare parts for welding and finishing.
- Repair broken or damaged metal components, including filling holes and building up parts.
