Job Summary

The Transportation Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing the movement of products and equipment in a cost-effective and efficient manner. This role analyzes transportation routes and methods, coordinates shipments, negotiates transportation costs, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, and ensures compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and business requirements. The position requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, SAP experience, and the ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Plan and coordinate transportation activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products and equipment.
  • Analyze transportation routes, carriers, and delivery methods to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Negotiate transportation rates and fees with carriers and service providers.
  • Coordinate transportation arrangements with internal departments and external partners.
  • Monitor shipment progress and resolve transportation-related issues as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, and business requirements.
  • Maintain accurate transportation records, documentation, and reporting.
  • Utilize SAP and other systems to manage transportation activities and logistics data.
  • Create, maintain, and analyze spreadsheets and reports using advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, and business teams to support operational objectives.
  • Obtain necessary approvals and coordinate with relevant authorities when required.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and transportation cost savings.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheet creation, formulas, data analysis, and data validation.
  • Experience working with SAP required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and effectively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field required.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain operations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience coordinating transportation activities, analyzing routes, and managing logistics processes.
  • Experience using SAP for transportation, logistics, or supply chain functions.
