Job Description
Primary Purpose Leads major construction project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management, progress reporting, troubleshooting and people management. Develops assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members. Identifies, prepares and obtains regulatory approval for combined construction and operating licenses (COL), early site permits (ESP), and other permits required by industry regulatory agencies and state and/or local governments for the construction and operation of facilities. Ensures that materials and equipment resources are delivered on time. Interfaces between the project team, construction site and management.
The Construction Superintendent supervises crews and coordinates site activities, resolving operational challenges and driving adherence to project plans, budgets, and safety protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees crews and ensures alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Develops and implements operational plans for site activities.
- Resolves scheduling conflicts and resource constraints to maintain workflow.
- Conducts stakeholder meetings to communicate progress and address concerns.
- Monitors adherence to budgets and initiates corrective actions when needed.
- Coordinates subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Promotes a culture of safety and continuous improvement across teams.
- Provides performance feedback and coaching to team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Required: Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience
- Required: Typically requires 5 years of related experience.
- 5+ years of construction supervision experience in industrial projects; LNG, tank, or cryogenic facility experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Required: Construction Management - Oversees construction projects from the beginning planning stages all the way through completion to ensure quality delivery with regards to the project's schedule, cost, quality, safety, scope and function.
- Required: Project/Program Management - The process of leading the work of a team to achieve goals and meet success criteria at a specified time.
- Required: Regulatory Compliance - Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
- Required: Project Scheduling - A mechanism to communicate what tasks need to get done and which organizational resources will be allocated to complete those tasks in what timeframe.
- Required: Contract Management - Streamlining the creation, execution, storage or renewal of contracts, with a focus on compliance, often via software or other automated means.
- Required: Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Strategy - Identifies, reduces and removes potential hazards to a physical and working environment, develops best practices for accident prevention, accident response etc., and fosters a positive health, safety and wellness culture.
- Required: Project Risk Management - The process of identifying, analyzing and responding to any risk that arises over the life cycle of a project to help the project remain on track and meet its goal.
- Required: Purchasing/Procurement Management - The process of sourcing and purchasing goods and services from an external source, like a third-party vendor or supplier.
- Required: Supply Chain Analysis - The process of evaluating every stage of a supply chain starting from the time the business acquires raw materials or supplies from its suppliers to the delivery of final products to the customers.
- Required: Documentation and Records Management - Creating, distributing, using, maintaining and disposition of recorded information maintained as evidence of business activities and transactions.

$129,500.00 - $204,500.00 / year
