Position Overview:

This position is responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties requiring experience and knowledge of general office procedures. Types and prepares correspondence, records, transcription, reports and other documents as requested. Establishes and maintains effective filing systems. Assists with projects as requested by assigned physician/manager. Supports and adheres to the Cancer Care Northwest Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates accurate and timely completion of documentation for patient medical records through transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying and transmitting text, data and graphics.
  • Tracks provider documentation deficiencies as per established guidelines.
  • Handles incoming and outgoing correspondence for assigned physician.
  • Maintains files and office equipment.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
  • Performs all other duties/responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or a General Education Degree
  • demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology

It is preferred that an individual has:

  • an associate's degree or some college-level education
  • previous medical office experience
  • previous transcription experience
  • taken courses in anatomy and physiology, disease processes, and basic pharmacology

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly: sit, bend, grasp, reach, talk and hear
  • Occasionally: stand, stoop/crouch, lift up to 30 pounds, pull/push up to 30 pounds, and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Vision: clearly see up to 5 feet with or without corrective lenses, clearly see up to 20 feet with or without corrective lenses

Work Environment:

While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will not be exposed to any workplace environmental conditions caused by extreme noise, heat, cold, workplace hazards, atmospheric dusts/fumes/vapors/mists, pathogens, or toxic chemicals.

Salary DOE - $17.50-$24.50
