| Position Summary |
The primary purpose of the position is to facilitate and oversee human
MRI, MR/
PET, CT, and
PET/CT imaging services for the
BRIC, utilizing technical and administrative expertise. Technical areas of responsibility include providing for the safety of clinical patients and research subjects during research studies and all clinical procedures and performing imaging studies to acquire the needed images. This position will conduct and oversee
MRI, MR/
PET, CT,
PET/CT studies with and without the use of radioactive nuclides and imaging contrast agents. Administrative areas of responsibility include ensuring coordination of radioactive tracer production, making schedules for imaging technologists to ensure coverage of imaging studies, overseeing financial aspects of the human imaging operations, and ensuring dose delivery of all doses including ones with a very rapid half-life and those that are non-
FDA approved. This position is responsible for developing safety standards and SOPs and managing personnel adherence to these procedures, including coordination with
EHS in managing radiation safety of all personnel. The position will develop the ability to properly use the scheduling systems for imaging research services, clinical scheduling, and logging within the
EPIC system, as needed for clinical procedures.
This position will oversee and train imaging technologists to ensure proficiency in the imaging techniques required for ongoing studies within the center. Responsibilities also include ensuring accurate tracking and logging of scanner time for billing purposes, as well as effectively managing relationships with investigators, study personnel, and clinical faculty and staff. This work involves caring for research subjects and clinical patients of all ages and levels of health, including children as young as two weeks of age and spanning adulthood. Applicants should have a high level of comfort in working with subjects/patients of all ages and health statuses. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure. |
| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
The position would require registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with certification in Nuclear Medicine,
MRI, and CT (or equivalent licensure or certification). Experience with MR imaging. As the
BRIC is a research facility that also conducts clinical imaging, candidates should demonstrate a desire to work within the research environment, as well as a clinical environment. Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, physicians, investigators, staff, and the general public. Position requires the ability to work independently and be self-directed, while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Due to the nature of research and clinical imaging, the ability to multi-task is essential. |
| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Training, experience, and certification in Siemens Positron Emission Tomography (
PET), and Computed Tomography. Experience with Siemens MR scanners is preferred. Previous supervisory experience in an imaging setting is preferred. Familiarity with
ACR Accreditation processes, understanding
JCAHO standards and experience with
JCAHO inspections is preferred. |
