Digital Asset Manager

Location: Remote (Must reside within 100 miles of Culver City, CA)

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Pay Rate: $57.00/hour


Overview

Our client is seeking a proactive and highly organized Digital Asset Manager to support a global Content Design organization by governing the creative content supply chain and ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and organization of valuable creative assets.

This role serves as the steward of the enterprise Digital Asset Management (DAM) ecosystem, supporting a large-scale distributed creative team responsible for producing and managing design systems, photography, marketing assets, presentation materials, and other strategic content. The ideal candidate will combine strong organizational skills with expertise in metadata, taxonomy development, asset governance, and creative workflows to ensure teams can efficiently locate and leverage assets across the organization.


Responsibilities
Taxonomy & Metadata Management

  • Own and maintain metadata schemas for designated business areas and creative asset libraries.
  • Ensure all final assets, templates, and presentation materials are accurately tagged and cataloged according to established standards.
  • Develop and maintain taxonomy structures that improve searchability, discoverability, and asset reuse.
  • Monitor metadata quality and consistency across the asset management platform.


Asset Governance & Source-of-Truth Management

  • Maintain clear governance between source templates, design systems, and executional working files.
  • Manage permissions, folder structures, and access controls to protect critical creative assets.
  • Establish and enforce asset management standards, naming conventions, and organizational best practices.
  • Serve as a steward of the organization's source-of-truth asset repositories.


Ingest, Quality Control & Archiving

  • Act as the final quality control checkpoint before assets are published into the enterprise DAM system.
  • Ensure assets meet established standards for organization, naming conventions, metadata, and folder structures.
  • Oversee the migration and archival of creative assets from active production environments into long-term storage.
  • Support large-scale data migration and content organization initiatives.


Search & Asset Retrieval

  • Serve as the primary resource for locating historical creative assets, localized content, campaign materials, and presentation decks.
  • Fulfill search and retrieval requests for internal stakeholders across multiple teams and regions.
  • Optimize asset discoverability through effective metadata and organizational practices.


Training & User Support

  • Train designers, producers, marketers, and external partners on DAM usage, governance standards, and file management best practices.
  • Develop documentation, onboarding materials, and training resources.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure adoption of asset management processes.


Workflow Optimization

  • Evaluate existing content management and asset workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Recommend and implement process enhancements that improve efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.


Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Digital Asset Management, Creative Operations, Content Operations, Library Sciences, or related fields within a creative agency, entertainment company, media organization, or consumer brand.
  • Strong understanding of creative production workflows, design systems, localization processes, and presentation development.
  • Proficiency with common creative file formats, including:

    • Adobe Photoshop (PSD)
    • Adobe Illustrator (AI)
    • Keynote
    • PDF
    • High-resolution photography assets


  • Experience migrating and organizing large volumes of content within enterprise Digital Asset Management systems.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining metadata schemas and taxonomy frameworks.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to balance governance requirements and user needs.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across distributed teams.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale creative organizations and global content teams.
  • Knowledge of asset lifecycle management, content governance, and digital preservation best practices.
  • Experience developing documentation, onboarding programs, and training materials.
  • Familiarity with enterprise DAM platforms and content management systems.
  • Passion for improving operational efficiency and creative workflows.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
