Job Summary

The Organizational Metrics Data Analyst is responsible for cultivating and communicating insights from data to facilitate decision-making, support program planning, support analytics-driven effectiveness and efficiency initiatives, and contribute to the rankings of Isenberg School of Management (ISOM).

Essential Functions

Designs, creates, and implements insightful data dashboards, databases and other reporting tools to support key strategic initiatives and ad-hoc requests for monitoring of admissions standards, enrollments, classroom utilization, student retention, student completion-rates, and faculty utilization.

Assists with data retrieval and submissions for external rankings of undergraduate and graduate programs.

Collaborates to devise, implement, and improve processes for data gathering and distribution across multiple departments and various channels.

Supports the collection of teaching load and overload teaching information for reporting to senior leadership and university administration.

Supports the reporting of progress and performance on school strategic initiatives to the university Office of Institutional Effectiveness and public facing audiences.

Works with key stakeholders across ISOM and the University to coordinate and respond to information requests. Ensures effective communication and proper documentation of data sources, standards, and related processes and policies.

Translates success metrics into tracking and reporting requirements. Makes actionable recommendations to business decisionmakers based on research and analytical results.

Facilitates self-service reporting and data trainings for internal users and community members.

Produces professional reports such as teaching load and overload teaching reports, student success reports, course section count reports, course scheduling efficiency reports and enrollment management reports.

Supports survey assessment design, distribution, and management.

Contributes to required AACSB accreditation surveys and reports including faculty qualification and intellectual contribution tracking and assessment of learning outcomes.

Other Functions

Performs related duties as assigned or required to meet department, school, and university goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of experience in business analytics.

Analytically minded with an aptitude for numbers and visualization of data.

Ability to analyze data to support management decisions and improve performance.

Ability to make data digestible to non-technical individuals or teams.

Demonstrated ability to think through problems and apply critical thinking skills.

Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

Experience with data visualization and dashboard tools such as Tableau.

Independent initiative and willingness to ask questions.

Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple complex projects.

Ability to clearly and confidently communicate project requirements and challenges with teammates.

Ability to collaborate and maintain productive relationships on and with cross-functional teams.

Strong skills in all Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel. Ability to learn new technical skills rapidly and independently.

Strong commitment to customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, specifically Salesforce.

Experience in higher education or institutional research.

Programming experience using statistical tools (e.g., KNIME, SAS, R, SPSS).

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion.

Work Schedule and Work Arrangement

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 p.m.

Required to work some nights & weekends as pertains to business needs.

This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee's work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week. As this position falls within the Professional Staff Union, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the Professional Staff Union collective bargaining agreement.
