POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Level IV) plays a key role in the successful execution of projects from start to finish. This individual will provide technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers. The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and managed. The successful candidate will also contribute to a dynamic team environment by being proactive, communicating clearly to all stakeholders, and modeling a highly collaborative working environment. This person will also actively support the business development process, through the writing of proposals and meeting with prospective and current customers.
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Assists with the design of one or more of the following: power distribution systems (primary requirement), size motor feeders and starters.
- Supports the design of building power and lighting systems. Includes the design of special systems, such as ground fault, lightning protection, emergency generator, UPS, etc.
- Prepares engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope of work and to ensure application of Electrical Engineering Principles.
- Assists with performing voltage drop and short-circuit calculations. Perform arc fault analysis.
- Coordinates work with other departments and project team members as well as contractors.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) registration in Ohio, or the ability to obtain Ohio registration via comity.
- Project experience and a working knowledge of electrical design for building projects.
- Healthcare design experience, familiarity with FGI guidelines and NFPA 99.
- Strong electrical design expertise across various industries and processes.
- Knowledge in both Revit and AutoCAD, or similar drawing experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Structural Engineering construction practices.
- In-depth knowledge of industry codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, NESC, ANSI/IEEE, NFPA, IBC, Life Safety Code, etc.).
- Knowledge of computer technology and specific areas of application, including MS Office.
- Proven ability to build strong client relationships and establish credibility.
- Demonstrated leadership, and supervisory or people-management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
- Collaborate effectively with Designers, Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders.
- Able to synthesize ideas into a set of recommendations.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective meeting management skills.
- Represent the company in a professional manner.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future.
- Travel: May include up to 25% domestic travel
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare market segments is preferred.
- Experience in infrastructure design for healthcare facilities.
- Healthcare design experience, familiarity with FGI guidelines and NFPA 99.
- P.E. registration in other states is desirable.
Working Conditions
- Some work locations will feature the tough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment.
