Location: New York City (Hybrid - 2 Days/Week Onsite)

Compensation: $75-$100/Hour

Duration: 6-Month Contract (Strong Potential for Extension)

Overview

A global technology and communications company serving financial institutions is seeking a Tax Analyst to support North American tax operations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a lean, high-impact tax team and gain broad exposure across tax compliance, tax accounting, regulatory reporting, transfer pricing, and process improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, partnering cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, Treasury, and external advisors, and taking ownership of critical tax deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Tax Compliance Support
  • Gather, validate, and analyze data to support federal, state, provincial, and local tax filings
  • Support income tax, franchise tax, sales & use tax, indirect tax, and regulatory filing requirements
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate submissions
  • Monitor tax law and regulatory changes affecting the business
Tax Accounting & Reporting
  • Assist with tax account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Support annual and quarterly tax provision activities
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for external advisors and auditors
  • Maintain tax workpapers and supporting documentation
Regulatory & Indirect Tax Reporting
  • Support telecommunications-related regulatory filings and reporting requirements
  • Compile and validate data used for indirect tax reporting
  • Assist with taxability questions and customer exemption documentation
Transfer Pricing & International Support
  • Assist with transfer pricing documentation and intercompany reporting
  • Support cross-border tax initiatives and information requests
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on international tax matters
Process Improvement & Controls
  • Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes and improve data quality
  • Support automation initiatives and reporting enhancements
  • Maintain SOX-compliant documentation and control procedures
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field
  • 3-6+ years of corporate tax and/or public accounting tax experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state taxation
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage responsibilities independently in a lean environment
Preferred
  • Telecom, technology, fintech, or SaaS industry experience
  • Regulatory filing experience
  • Sales & Use Tax experience
  • Exposure to Canadian tax matters
  • ASC 740 tax provision experience
  • Transfer pricing support experience
  • Experience working with Oracle, Vertex, or similar ERP environments

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
