This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.
Position Summary: Blue Origin is seeking an experiencedFacilities Space Planning Project Managerto lead and manage space planning initiatives across our facilities portfolio. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining strategic space plans that support our mission and workforce growth. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who can balance short-term space demands with long-term real estate strategy while collaborating across multiple business units. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive space plans for all Blue Origin facilities, ensuring alignment with organizational growth and business needs
- Manage end-to-end space planning projects from concept through occupancy, including scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder coordination
- Conduct space utilization analysis and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize existing footprint
- Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to forecast headcount and translate workforce plans into space requirements
- Coordinate with architects, interior designers, construction managers, and vendors to execute fit-out and renovation projects
Maintain accurate space data in CAFM/IWMS systems (e.g., Archibus, Planon, AutoCAD, or similar) - Develop and present space planning reports, dashboards, and proposals to senior leadership
- Establish and enforce space standards, move management protocols, and occupancy policies
- Lead or support workplace strategy initiatives, including hybrid work programs, hoteling/hot-desking, and neighborhood planning
- Manage move, add, and change (MAC) requests and coordinate with facilities operations teams
- Coordinate and manage furniture vendors, including soliciting bids, negotiating contracts, overseeing procurement and delivery, and ensuring furniture standards are maintained across all facilities
- Support lease administration activities including space measurement, utilization reporting, and occupancy planning for new or renewed sites
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, ADA standards, life safety requirements, and company policies
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in facilities space planning, workplace strategy, or project management
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-site space planning or capital projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit; experience with CAFM/IWMS platforms
- Strong understanding of workplace design standards, building systems, and construction processes
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and deadlines
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting space utilization data and metrics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related discipline
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- CFM (Certified Facility Manager) or LEED accreditation
- Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or high-tech industries
- Familiarity with BOMA measurement standards
- Experience supporting large-scale campus master planning efforts
- Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency best practices in facility design
