Job Summary

This position is responsible for placing, finishing, repairing, and maintaining concrete surfaces on large-scale infrastructure and site development projects. Work may include roadways, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, drainage structures, foundations, slabs, retaining walls, bridge components, and other civil concrete applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of concrete placement and finishing techniques, the ability to work safely in demanding outdoor environments, and experience working alongside crews in a fast-paced construction setting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Perform all phases of concrete finishing on heavy civil construction projects.

* Set forms and assist with concrete placement operations.

* Smooth and finish surfaces using hand and power tools including trowels, floats, screeds, and vibrators.

* Finish concrete surfaces to project specifications and quality standards.

* Install and finish curbs, gutters, sidewalks, slabs, pads, and structural concrete components.

* Apply curing compounds and surface treatments as required.

* Perform patching, repair, and restoration of damaged concrete surfaces.

* Read and interpret blueprints, grades, and construction layouts.

* Maintain proper slopes, elevations, and alignment during finishing operations.

* Work closely with equipment operators, laborers, carpenters, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.

* Inspect tools and equipment to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.

* Maintain clean and organized work areas.

* Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and site-specific safety procedures.

* Assist with other construction-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

* Minimum of 2+ years of concrete finishing experience in heavy civil or commercial construction preferred.

* Experience with roadway, structural, or infrastructure concrete work preferred.

* Ability to operate hand and power finishing tools safely and effectively.

* Knowledge of concrete curing, finishing techniques, and concrete mix behavior.

* Ability to read tape measures, grades, and construction plans.

* Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality.

* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

* Reliable transportation and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

* Must be able to work overtime, weekends, or extended shifts when required.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.

* Ability to stand, kneel, bend, crouch, climb, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods.

* Ability to work in physically demanding environments including heat, cold, dust, and mud.

* Ability to wear required PPE including hard hats, safety vests, gloves, eye protection, and work boots.

Work Environment & Location

* This position requires travel 85% - 90% of the time throughout New Mexico & Arizona.

* Ability to travel to different job sites and/or states as required
