Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Global Application Engineer - CVT Systems is responsible for driving the technical strategy, application development, and performance optimization of CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) products across global powersports and scooter markets.


This role serves as the primary technical interface between customers, Product Development, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and commercial teams, ensuring successful product application, validation, and market adoption. The position combines engineering execution, customer engagement, and global collaboration to support new business development, product launches, and continuous improvement initiatives.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead global application engineering activities to support CVT product performance, integration, and customer success
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for global OE/OES and AR customers, supporting application development and issue resolution
  • Provide technical leadership in customer engagements, including design reviews, system optimization, and validation alignment
  • Drive engineering analysis, simulations, and application calculations to support product selection and system performance
  • Define and execute validation strategies, including DFMEA and DVP&R, to ensure robust product performance
  • Coordinate and oversee testing activities, including internal and external validation, data review, and reporting
  • Support system-level integration of CVT products within customer vehicle platforms
  • Collaborate with Product Development, PLM, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to align technical requirements with product strategy and execution
  • Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and development inputs
  • Monitor field performance, identify trends, and drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement actions
  • Provide technical input to support product roadmap development, innovation priorities, and competitive positioning
  • Support commercial teams with technical expertise for new business opportunities, feasibility assessments, and customer proposals.



KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:



  • Proven experience in application engineering, product development, or power transmission systems within powersports, automotive, or related industries
  • Strong understanding of CVT systems, belt drive technologies, and system-level integration
  • Experience supporting global customers across diverse markets and applications
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer requirements into technical solutions and product improvements
  • Experience with validation methodologies, including DFMEA, DVP&R, and product performance testing
  • Strong engineering fundamentals in mechanical design, system integration, and performance analysis
  • Ability to develop and execute technical application strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Proven problem-solving and root cause analysis capability
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including customer-facing technical discussions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a global, cross-functional environment
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and drive alignment across teams
  • Proficiency in data analysis, test interpretation, and engineering tools
  • Self-directed, motivated, and results-oriented with high integrity and accountability

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5-7+ years of experience in application engineering, product development, or related engineering roles
  • Experience with powersports, scooters, or light mobility applications preferred
  • Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, and validation processes.
  • Domestic and international travel up to 40% to support customers, testing, and global collaboration

PAY & BENEFITS



  1. Full-Time
  2. Salary Range: $105,000-$122,000
  3. Relocation is not provided
  4. Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits beginonthe first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  5. Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
  6. 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
  7. Tuition Reimbursement
