Job Description

The LTC Staff Scheduling Manager oversees staffing and scheduling operations for Long Term Care, ensuring adequate coverage to support quality resident care while maintaining compliance with regulatory, organizational, and budgetary requirements. This role manages scheduling processes, time and attendance functions, staffing analytics, and related personnel activities while partnering closely with LTC leadership to support workforce planning and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and adjust staffing schedules based on census, staffing needs, employee availability, and budget requirements.

  • Collaborate with LTC leadership to ensure adequate staffing coverage across all shifts and units.

  • Manage timekeeping, attendance tracking, payroll reconciliation, and staffing records.

  • Analyze staffing data and provide recommendations to support operational and workforce planning decisions.

  • Support hiring, onboarding, orientation, training, and performance management activities.

  • Investigate attendance and policy-related concerns and assist with performance improvement and corrective action processes.

  • Maintain staffing databases and scheduling systems to ensure accurate reporting and recordkeeping.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external resources to address staffing needs.

  • Promote quality improvement, staff safety, customer service, and regulatory compliance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling in a clinical environment.

  • Staff scheduling experience.

  • Three years of Long Term Care nursing experience.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with database, spreadsheet, payroll, timekeeping, and scheduling software applications.
