Let's Talk About Your Qualifications:

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Control Room Operator oversees all bay let-down operations, monitors sorter control programs, does diagnostic testing, always communicates with subsequent operations, assists in planning lumber order, and assures that the Sorter is running properly.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Oversee Bay Let-down operations
* Run diverter test prior to shift startup.
* Communicates with Stacker relaying lumber information.
* Prints out information for Bay Let-down associates.
* Run system diagnostics on Sorter.
* Assist Bay Let-down operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Must possess general computer skills
* Must be able to comprehend complex operating systems.
* Must be able to wear harness type fall protection and work at heights.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

* Must have basic knowledge in reading, writing and arithmetic.
* Must be able to make critical decisions.
* Must be able to see visual monitors and text clearly.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs while wearing fall protection.
* Must be able to communicate effectively with subsequent operations and coworkers.
* Must be able to navigate way to bays, walking on beams.
* Must be able to grasp boards when clearing jams.
* Must be able to wear proper personal protective equipment.

Working Conditions and Environment:

The work environment includes exposure to high decibels of noise, temperature, weather variations, metal welding processes and chemicals, which may include solvents, undercoating, paint, and caulking. Fast paced environment with moving equipment and motorized vehicles running at all times.
