SUMMARY

To grind all scrap PVC pipe that has been scrapped so that it can be ran back on the extruder as a good quality product. Operate all equipment and select materials required to provide consistent material to extruders and maintain blend inventory.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Comply with all company policies and procedures

* All pipe must be free of mud and dirt

* Pipe must be checked for gaskets or foreign material before grinding

* Must keep scale and pulverize area clean following 5S standards

* Responsible for the blend operation - keeping micro ingredient hoppers filled, setting batch scales, using correct formulas, and keeping accurate written records

* Must be capable of operating, reading and understanding all controls and warning devices on the blend control panel and system, along with making proper adjustments for blending the product within manufacturing standards

* Will notify supervision and maintenance immediately of any material leaks that are discovered inside or outside

* Will keep upper and lower floor blend room, silos and surrounding area, railcar siding and push/pull clean of powdered materials using whatever method will contain the powder and not result in a release of material into the air

* Responsible for pre-braking grinding and pulverizing all out of spec pipe and QC samples

* Must operator forklift to move and load pipe into machines

* Set the mixer system to properly produce compound needed for production

* Have the ability to recognize all ingredients and materials visually

* Weigh all ingredients to the designated specifications

* Make proper machine adjustments and perform minor maintenance to ensure consistent quality blends, safe operation and optimum output of compounding system

* Make routine inspections of mixing operation, mixer system and silos

* Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

* High School Diploma or GED

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $23.41to $30.03 per hour. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, sign on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package (also to include a full range of medical and other benefits).
