Senior Designer

The GI Reprocessing business develops Automated Endoscope Reprocessing (AER) equipment used in hospitals throughout the world. This complex equipment cleans delicate instrumentation and ensures physicians can safely perform surgeries. The Senior Designer is responsible for design, detailed drafting (CREO), and PLM (Windchill) design control on AER products to meet project and company needs. Aids in the development of specifications for electromechanical products and assists in resolving design problems in support of New Product Development.

Note: *This position is located onsite in Plymouth, MN

• Reliably produces high quality designs and documentation that are first time right.
• Develops complex product designs and associates engineering documentation with limited guidance from engineers of lead designers.
• Solves problems independently, utilizing problem solving techniques, referencing historical designs, referencing standards and other resources.
• Effectively utilizes design tools (CREO Preferred) within Product Lifecycle Management systems (Windchill Preferred) to control and release designs.
• Provides accurate effort estimates and then executes design efforts on time.
• Plans, develops and executes engineering and verification test protocols using good lab practices and good documentation practices. Completes testing reports.
• Leads communication with vendors, sourcing, manufacturing, service and other functions to realize designs.
• Initiates ECNs to implement simple to moderately complex design changes, following the corporate change process, while works with appropriate subject matter owners.
• Experience with Windchill PLM
• Is able to work cross-functionally with minimal oversight.

• Technical Associate's degree, drafting certification, or vocational training.
• 7+ years of progressive experience required.
• Proficiency with advanced functions of technical software design packages (CREO, AutoCAD, Altium).
• Proficient in advanced/complex technical design documentation (drafting, schematics, layouts, symbols)
• Expert in product lifecycle management through release and change management documentation.
• Experienced designing in multiple manufacturing methods within the technical function (machining, injection molding, cable harnesses, PCBAs, etc.)
• Hand-on aptitude within the technical area of expertise (oscilloscopes, calipers, hand tools, multimeters).
• Proficient in Microsoft products; Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point.
• Effective written and verbal communication.

Preferred:

• 1 year of experience working with Creo
• 1 year of experience working with Windchill PLM.
