Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a global network of policy research centers, is seeking a dynamic New Media Manager with a passion for storytelling and creative content to join its communications team in Washington, DC. This is a full-time position with an anticipatedduration of 24 months.

The New Media Manager will be responsible for increasing Carnegie's overall video-based output about major news topicsin international affairs policyby connecting Carnegie scholars to networksofcreators; training and coaching scholars in best practices; directingcreative storytellingstrategies forsocial media;and producing a strategy blueprint that can be shared with similarly positioned organizations operating in the new media landscape. This role will be critical in directingstrategy to reaching audiences via short form video, advising,and helping create engaging content, and facilitatingshared learnings across Carnegie and partner organizations.

Candidates should have 3 to 5+ years of experience in social media strategy, content marketing, digital audience development, or a similar field. Demonstrated experience working with nonprofit organizations, content creators, journalists, academics, or digital storytellers, with a strong grasp of how to build and engage audienceson fact-based content, is a big plus. Deep understanding of social video platforms, how to tailor content for each platform, and understanding how to break through inan information landscape transforming due to artificial intelligence is essential. The ideal candidate will have a track record ofproducing compelling content, as well asan ability to set and adjust strategy based on trends. Strong editorialjudgment and news instinctsrequired. Experience managing a social media budget and training others who are new to engage with social media a plus. The position reports to the Vice President for Communications and will work closely with the Democracy, Conflict, and Governance program, as well as the Sustainability, Climate and Geopolitics program.

Located in Dupont Circle, we offer an outstanding work environment and generous benefits (including health insurance). The anticipatedsalary range for this position is $75,000 - 95,000. Please note that this position will operate on a hybrid basis, requiring in-office work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
