Job Description

The Environmental Specialist Intern supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) or Sustainability team in implementing environmental compliance programs, conducting field assessments, and supporting sustainability initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in environmental regulations, data analysis, reporting, and environmental protection practices.

This Job Is For You If
  • You can assist in monitoring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., air quality, water quality, waste management).
  • You can support environmental inspections, audits, and site assessments.
  • You can collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data (e.g., emissions data, waste streams, water sampling results).
  • You can maintain environmental records, permits, and documentation.
  • You can order EHS related equipment utilizing the procurement process and SAP
  • You can assist in developing and updating environmental policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • You can support environmental reporting requirements (e.g., regulatory submissions, sustainability reports).
  • You can participate in waste reduction, recycling, and sustainability initiatives.
  • You can help investigate environmental incidents and support corrective actions.
  • You can collaborate with cross-functional teams on environmental improvement projects.
  • You can perform administrative duties such as data entry, report preparation, and tracking compliance metrics.
Job Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree inEnvironmental Science,Environmental Engineering,Sustainability,Ecology or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., EPA standards) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to interpret data and generate reports.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with environmental compliance programs (e.g., stormwater, hazardous waste).
  • Experience with environmental data tools, GIS, or sustainability platforms.
  • Previous internship, coursework, or volunteer experience in environmental work.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 or other environmental management systems.

Compensation: Junior $25.00 - $29.00 / Senior $29.00 - $33.00
