This position is for Parker Hannifin's Composite Sealing Systems Division, located in San Diego (Otay Mesa), California.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The BioPharma Product & Market Manager owns New Product Development, Marketing Strategy, and Technical Support for the BioPharma market segment within the Composite Sealing Systems Division to support aggressive growth targets in this market. This role is accountable for identifying market opportunities, defining portfolio strategy, guiding product priorities, supporting pricing and forecasting decisions, and enabling commercial success through strong value propositions and market-facing insight.

The Product & Market Manager works across functions and regions to align customer needs, market trends, technical capabilities, manufacturing readiness, and business objectives. Success in this role requires strong market and customer understanding, business case development, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to influence decisions that drive profitable growth. The BioPharma Product & Market Manager may handle similar responsibilities in adjacent markets as deemed appropriate.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and maintain the BioPharma market strategy for the division, including segment priorities, growth opportunities, target applications, and competitive positioning.
  • Define and recommend the portfolio strategy for BioPharma offerings, including new product opportunities, platform extensions, and portfolio gap closure.
  • Identify adjacent growth spaces, partnership opportunities, and emerging application areas that align with Parker capabilities and strategic objectives.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Manufacturing to align product concepts and commercialization priorities with technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Support pricing strategy through market-based value analysis, competitive understanding, and application-specific positioning.
  • Enable sales teams and channel partners through product training, application guidance, and go-to-market alignment.
  • Support New Product Launch and commercialization activities for new projects, ensuring alignment across commercial, technical, and operational teams.
  • Coordinate with division and global teams across locations, including San Diego; Tijuana, Mexico; and Germany, to align portfolio priorities, resource needs, and execution plans.
  • Monitor and communicate relevant regulatory, quality, customer, and industry trends affecting the BioPharma business, including risks, opportunities, and required strategic responses.
  • Prepare and present strategic recommendations, market updates, business cases, and portfolio performance insights to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Support annual operating planning and long-range planning through market-based growth assumptions, initiative prioritization, and segment strategy input.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Engineering, or Life Sciences.

Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years' experience in product management, marketing, or business development functions.

  • Experience supporting or leading growth initiatives in BioPharma, Single-Use Systems, Parker Hannifin EMG, or other regulated industrial markets is a plus.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, engineering, operations, finance, quality, and manufacturing teams.

Skills:

  • Understanding of market strategy, portfolio management, product positioning, and commercialization planning.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including exposure to pricing, margin considerations, forecasting, and return-based prioritization.
  • Effective project prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders.
  • Strong customer engagement capability and confidence interacting with strategic customers, channel partners, and internal leadership.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and commercial concepts clearly to varied audiences.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills when working across all functional levels.

Travel and Location

  • This position is based in San Diego, CA.

  • Travel is expected to be up to 40%, domestic and international, depending on business needs, customer engagement, project priorities, and collaboration requirements.

  • Travel may include visits to customers, channel partners, industry events, manufacturing sites, and Parker locations, including sites in Tijuana, Mexico and Germany.

  • Pay Range: $104400 to $174150 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
