Job Title: Service Engineer

Location(s): Memphis, TN

Position Overview:
An experienced On-Site Service Engineer is needed to support enterprise data center and server environments, including next-generation AI platforms. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role focused on maintaining system uptime, resolving complex hardware issues, and delivering high-quality on-site support. Prior AI experience is not required; strong server and data center fundamentals are the primary requirement.

Key Requirements:

  • Must reside within a 45-minute commute of the work site.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Willingness to work on-site daily.
  • Availability for on-call support and occasional shift coverage.
  • Strong server hardware troubleshooting and maintenance experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Position Details:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
  • Occasional alternate shift support required.
  • On-call participation required.
  • No travel required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site support for server and data center infrastructure, ensuring rapid issue resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Perform hardware maintenance, including server builds, component replacements, system swaps, and firmware updates.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and operating system issues.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams during service events.
  • Document all work activities and maintain accurate service records.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and extended support coverage as needed.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and operational best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in technical support, field service, or data center operations.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting servers and data center hardware in enterprise, field service, or customer-facing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with server components, including:
    • CPUs
    • Memory
    • Power supplies
    • GPUs
    • Full server replacements
  • Experience with server deployments and hardware swaps.
  • Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in customer-facing environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and support emerging technologies, including AI infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with liquid/water-cooled servers.
  • PC building experience.
  • Vendor certifications (Dell or equivalent).
  • Previous security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Technical Skills

  • Server hardware troubleshooting and repair.
  • Server builds, deployments, and replacements.
  • CPU, memory, power supply, and GPU replacement experience.
  • Linux familiarity.
  • Experience following established support procedures and plans of action.
  • Continuous technology learning and professional development.

Documentation

  • Real-time, detailed documentation experience.
  • Strong documentation practices and record-keeping.

Communication & Teamwork

  • Clear, proactive communication.
  • Professional and personable customer interactions.
  • Ability to provide detailed technical examples.
  • Strong team collaboration and positive attitude.

Security Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
