Department Summary In UNT's College of Visual Arts and Design, researchers are working to make a difference for people with diabetes, especially in rural parts of Texas, where the disease's prevalence and complications are 15% to 20% higher than in urban areas. Position Overview Work with Professor Michael Gibson to manage protype design with undergraduate and graduate students who are working on the project. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in User-Experience Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and 3D modeling. Strong capability in iterative testing, design troubleshooting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, manufacturing). Preferred Qualifications Deep proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and 3D modeling. Practical experience with 3D printing, CNC machinery, laser cutting, and materials selection. Software (Digital/UX): For digital products or apps, expertise in tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD. Required License/Registration/Certifications Job Duties
