Responsibilities

The Clinical Supervisor oversees the supervision and development of clinical team members of Newport Healthcare's adolescent and young adult programs. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supervising clinical team members (bachelor's and master's level) and providing the necessary support for ongoing development, training, and supervision. The Clinical Supervisor is also responsible for the ongoing development and management of the practicum/internship opportunities offered to students. This will include interviewing, hiring, and training clinical staff. Responsibilities include weekly individual and group supervision, assessing skills and creating individualized development plans, and observing and providing feedback on clinical assessments, sessions, and groups. Additional responsibilities include clinical compliance and auditing, facilitating therapy groups and carrying a caseload of clients and/or families. The Clinical Supervisor will be expected to be trained in both individual and family therapy.

Essential Duties:

  • Interviews, hires, and trains clinical team members in Newport Healthcare's clinical model, treatment philosophy, policies and procedures, and standardized protocols.
  • Assesses skill levels and creates individualized development plans with clinical team members.
  • Observes clinical assessments, sessions, and groups and provides necessary feedback to support ongoing skill development in clinical team members.
  • Provides initial and ongoing training necessary for clinical staff development.
  • Assists in the development and management of a comprehensive practicum program offered to master's level students and provides individualized learning opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with local and state universities.
  • Supervises clinical staff in the delivery of therapeutic services to teens, young adults, and families.
  • Carries a caseload of clients and/or families as required, based on census, and/or as needed to cover clinical absences or vacancies.
  • Supports admissions including, but not limited to screening, assessment, intake, orientation, and treatment planning.
  • In collaboration with the director, develops and monitors the clinical program schedule to ensure adequate coverage in compliance with payer requirements.
  • Facilitates Parent Support Groups and Multi-Family Process Groups and other therapy groups as needed.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field required.
  • Independently Licensed in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work is required in the state in which you are applying.
  • Board approved to provide individual and group supervision.
  • Experience in management and/or supervision of clinical team members.
  • Experience in providing individual and/or family therapy for adolescents, young adults, and parents.
  • Willingness to be trained, supervised, and provide services within the framework of Attachment-Based Family Therapy.
  • Training or experience in trauma-informed treatment.
