Join us as a Materials Manager Your main responsibilities
PRIMARY FUNCTION: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: -Plan and control material costs to lie within budget, seeking continual cost and process improvements. Cost reductions may be achieved through domestic and global sourcing. Improve planning processes to reduce inventory, and direct shipping, receiving and storeroom to wards improvements in material handling processes to provide better internal customer service. Coordinate any implementations, updates and maintenance to inventory software program. -Maintain a Schindler represented facility by providing effective and open communication with a consistent application of policies and procedures. Coordinate manpower needs through hiring. -Provide any necessary training to site to facilitate process improvements through inventory and information systems. -Maintain a safe, clean and pleasant work environment by good housekeeping in shop and office areas. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Work Experience: 3-5 years in manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory experience required. Previous Materials experience necessary. CRITICAL SKILLS: Computer Skills:General Computer knowledge. Prefer knowledge of spreadsheets, and Microsoft office. Experience with inventory software helpful. Problem Solving: Requires considerable interpretation of complex problems. Must engage in evaluative thinking, serious consequences or loss may result from error. Additional skills:Must have excellent communication skills. Must have very high verbal and good written abilities. What's in it for you?
