What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking an Information Systems Engineering Project Manager to provide leadership, prioritization, and coordination across a portfolio of mission-enabling engineering and business applications. This role will serve as a key interface between stakeholders, customers, and technical teams to help ensure the highest-value work is clearly defined, sequenced, and delivered in alignment with mission needs. The selected candidate will support one or more cross-functional technical teams using Agile or iterative methods and help maintain accountability, visibility, and continuity across enhancements, sustainment, upgrades, and lifecycle improvements in a mission-critical environment.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Work with stakeholders, customers, and technical teams to clarify needs, define priorities, and sequence work across ongoing efforts.
  • Provide coordination and day-to-day delivery support for enhancements, sustainment activities, upgrades, and continuous improvement efforts across one or more application teams.
  • Translate customer needs, operational drivers, and organizational priorities into actionable work for technical teams using Agile or iterative delivery approaches.
  • Help maintain alignment, accountability, and visibility across multiple stakeholder groups, customer organizations, and delivery teams.
  • Monitor status, dependencies, issues, risks, and competing priorities, and help drive communication, decisions, and resolution.
  • Prepare status updates, metrics, and decision support materials for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support lifecycle activities for enterprise and mission-enabling applications, including implementation, operations, sustainment, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across organizations to support customer needs, mission outcomes, and continuity of operations.

Salary Range

$87,400 - $168,800

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other relevant field, plus relevant experience; or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and experience.
  • Experience leading, coordinating, or supporting delivery of information systems, software, enterprise applications, digital services, or technical operational work in a complex organizational environment.
  • Experience using Agile, Scrum, iterative, or similar delivery approaches to plan, track, prioritize, or coordinate work across one or more technical teams.
  • DOE Q security clearance or equivalent required to start.
Qualifications We Desire

  • Experience managing the full Experience leading or supporting delivery of information systems, software, or enterprise applications in complex environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or iterative delivery methods to plan, prioritize, and coordinate work across technical teams.
  • Skilled at collaborating with stakeholders, customers, and technical teams to clarify needs and maintain alignment.
  • Ability to translate customer needs and business priorities into actionable work plans and delivery goals.
  • Experience managing application portfolios involving enhancements, sustainment, upgrades, and lifecycle improvements.
  • Proficient with collaboration and tracking tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, or GitLab.
  • Experience preparing and delivering status reports, metrics, and decision support materials for leadership.
  • Knowledge of service management, change coordination, incident/problem management, and ITIL-based operations.
  • Ability to maintain delivery continuity and stakeholder alignment during organizational changes or leadership transitions.
  • Relevant certifications such as Scrum, ITIL, PMI, or SAFe are preferred.
About Our Team

The Product Realization Technologies Department (9353) develops and supports enterprise applications and IT services that enable product realization, assembly, and mission operations for Sandia's Nuclear Deterrence community and the broader Nuclear Security Enterprise. Our team manages critical systems that support secure data management, product definition, assembly records, workflow coordination, and related mission needs. We also provide selected IT service management and emerging technology support to help ensure reliable operations, effective collaboration, and continuous improvement across our customer base.

Posting Duration

Security Clearance

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
