Job Description:

Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an immediate career opportunity for a Project Executive to join our National Mission Critical team!

We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced Project Executive to lead our Mission Critical sector, specifically taking the helm of an upcoming 1 GW hyperscale data center campus buildout. As the Project Executive, you will act as the primary operational and strategic leader for this monumental project, ensuring excellence from preconstruction through final commissioning and handover.

You will be responsible for executive-level client relationship management, aligning project execution with overarching business goals, and driving a culture of safety, quality, and innovation. This role requires deep technical expertise in mission-critical infrastructure, complex contract management, and the ability to scale teams and supply chains for a multi-phase, gigawatt-scale

Some things you can expect to do:

Strategic Leadership & Campus Execution

  • Serve as the ultimate project leader for a 1 GW data center campus, overseeing multiple concurrent phases, buildings, and utility-scale infrastructure installations.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive project strategies, integrating preconstruction, estimating, scheduling, and field operations to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

  • Drive integration of technology and sustainable building practices across the campus lifecycle.

  • Anticipate and mitigate project risks associated with hyperscale builds, including labor constraints, site logistics, and regulatory compliance.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary executive point of contact for the client (e.g., hyperscale tech companies, colocation providers), maintaining alignment on project health, financial status, and strategic shifts.

  • Lead executive reporting and high-level presentations to client leadership and internal stakeholders.

  • Foster a collaborative environment between the client, design partners, trade partners, and the internal construction team to deliver a seamless client experience.

Supply Chain & Complex Contract Management

  • Oversee the procurement strategy for critical long-lead equipment (e.g., generators, chillers, switchgear, substations) required for a 1 GW deployment.
  • Direct the drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex contract exhibits and specialized Scopes of Work (SOW), particularly for intricate systems like BMS (Building Management Systems) and EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring Systems).
  • Partner with procurement teams to navigate supply chain volatility and ensure material availability aligns with the master schedule.

Financial & Operational Excellence

  • Hold ultimate P&L responsibility for the campus buildout, managing multi-billion-dollar budgets and ensuring financial health, accurate forecasting, and profitable execution.

  • Champion an industry-leading safety culture, ensuring all site operations adhere strictly to company and regulatory safety standards.

  • Oversee rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) programs, ensuring zero-defect delivery necessary for mission-critical facility commissioning (Levels 1-5).

Team Building & Talent Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing project team consisting of Project Directors, Senior Project Managers, Senior Superintendents, MEP Managers, and Cost Managers.

  • Define roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics for the project team, driving accountability and professional growth.

Job Requirements:
  • Experience: 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial construction, with a minimum of 7-10 years exclusively dedicated to mission-critical/data center projects.

  • Scale of Execution: Proven track record of successfully leading and completing hyperscale data center projects or campuses (100MW+ individual phases, with the capability and strategic vision to manage a 1 GW master plan).

  • Technical Acumen: Deep technical understanding of data center MEP systems, high-voltage infrastructure, cooling technologies, and complex commissioning processes.

  • Contractual Expertise: Extensive experience managing complex construction contracts, specialized system exhibits (BMS/EPMS), and joint venture agreements.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

  • Leadership Traits: Exceptional communication skills, strategic foresight, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
