Senior Quality Technician positions offered by Hitachi Energy USA Inc. (South Boston, Virginia). Assist with the implementation of quality assurance activities within the production/assembly/ manufacturing operations. Assists in the maintenance of quality management systems, including the development and updating of procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation. Execute quality control measures, conduct inspections, and analyze data to ensure compliance with quality standards. Participate in risk assessment activities such as failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA). Contribute to the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies to minimize process-related risks. Set up efficient change management processes for products, processes, suppliers, materials, and designs. Responsible for checking and updating risks for processes and products based on the non-conformities reported, change requests, and process enhancements. Keep the PFMEA updated, following rules established to reduce and track potential problems. Work closely with the quality assurance team and other stakeholders to identify and resolve quality-related issues, contribute to process improvement initiatives, and assist in maintaining quality systems and documentation. Conduct routine inspections and audits of manufacturing processes, materials, and products to identify quality issues and deviations from established standards. Participate in Quality Control Points specified in the QMS. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address customer-specific quality requirements. Assist in analyzing customer feedback and identify areas for improvement for customer satisfaction. Support the analysis of data and generation of reports on process performance, trends, and metrics to facilitate decision-making and continuous improvement efforts. Must have 10 years of experience in each of the following: performing winding and winding assembly, core cutting and core stacking, and active part assembly processes for power transformers; performing tanking or wiring of power transformers; and, performing technical drawing interpretation of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following: performing quality inspection and auditing in line with power transformer manufacturing specifications; and, using SAP or ERP systems, including Quality Module.
