THE ROLE:

Manage all the indirect procurement activities to ensure the supply in a region to support business requirements.Ensure the compliance of company procurement process and policies to mitigate risks. Manage the cost by developing and implementing a regional procurement strategy.

THE PERSON:

We're looking for someone with an appetite for knowledge, motivated, resourceful, independent, and who can take initiative in this fast-paced environment. You should possess strong communication skills and stakeholder management skills who can interface well with internal and external partners across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop procurement strategies and present them to procurement leadership; own and drive execution of the aligned strategy.
  • Plan, organize, and manage contracts and negotiations for the strategic acquisition of indirect goods and services.
  • Lead supplier contract management, negotiations, and comprehensive supplier management strategies across global, regional, and local environments.
  • Facilitate supplier agreement negotiations, renegotiations, and contract addendums.
  • Build and maintain a robust supplier network to support capacity requirements and manage global supply chain challenges.
  • Represent indirect procurement on cross-functional teams addressing supply challenges and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with product, manufacturing, quality engineering, finance, and product support teams.
  • Define and monitor performance metrics aligned with Annual Operating Plan (AOP) objectives and drive continuous supplier improvement.
  • Evaluate cost, quality, and risk associated with the preferred supplier base.
  • Develop and implement a strategic procurement plan to define a preferred supplier base.
  • Encourage early supplier involvement in new service designs to optimize quality, cost, and serviceability.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent knowledge of purchasing
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in indirect procurement with a focus on indirect facility categories
  • Basic knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM)
  • Specific education or experience in SCM preferred.
  • Green Belt certification preferred
  • Demonstrated effective advanced computer skills
  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Effective project management skills
  • Proficiency in SAP procurement transactions
  • Proficiency in Ariba or equivalent e-procurement system
  • Requisition-to-payment process experience
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing/commodity/spend category management methodology
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement or Six Sigma methodology

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

BS/BA degree in a related technical or business field or MBA plus experience in a related technical or business field.
