What You Will Do
  • Leads the development and implementation of program goals and operations for the chest pain program.
  • Works collaboratively with the Medical Director for the chest pain program to oversee the program's procedures, protocols, and policies.
  • Provides oversight of regulatory requirements for Chest Pain Accreditation.
  • Provides education to physician, nursing, ancillary, support, and EMS staff regarding care of chest pain patients.
  • Performs data abstraction to meet accreditation requirements.
  • Analyzes abstracted data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to implement process improvement action plans and goals.
  • Facilitates community outreach programs for chest pain.
  • Chairs the chest pain committee in collaboration with Medical Leadership.
  • Oversees the care of chest pain patients in collaboration with other members of the health care team to meet all care standards and regulatory requirements. Provides feedback to team members regarding protocol compliance.
  • Respond to chest pain alerts as permitted to provide support to staff.
  • Provides education and competencies related to the care of chest pain patients to physicians, nursing staff, ancillary staff, support staff, and EMS.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
