Lee Health is seeking a compassionate and experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Advanced to join our Peri-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team at Gulf Coast Medical Center. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals recovering from anesthesia, working closely with nurses and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure a safe and efficient patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and mobility
  • Monitor and report patient conditions, vital signs, and changes to nursing staff
  • Support patient flow in a fast-paced peri-anesthesia environment
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring comfort and safety
Requirements
  • Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Previous acute care or hospital experience preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Summary

Provides patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation/completion of procedures relating to basic human, mental health, social needs, comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care needs; nutrition and fluid and elimination needs. May have access to and transport non-controlled medications as directed.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of a State Approved, CNA Education Program required (with at least 120 hours of academic studies and clinical training; 165 hours preferred in Acute Care).

Experience: Previous CNA work experience preferred; or new graduate CNA with clinical training.

Certification: Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date.

License: Current Florida CNA Certification; or a CNA certification active in another state which is transferrable to obtain Florida certification under reciprocity.

Other: Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required. Knowledge of medical terminology.
