Overview:
To ensure a safe, efficient, well-maintained hotel environment while providing maintenance services to guests in a courteous, professional, and engaging manner.
Responsibilities:
Maintain all public areas, guest rooms, meeting rooms and corridors on an on-going basis including paint, wallpaper and plastering.
Performs preventive maintenance of guest rooms, following preventive maintenance guidelines for Omni CARE program.
Maintain correct stock/inventory of paint supplies and materials and communicate when replenishment is needed.
Aid guests in locating other areas of the hotel (walk them to destination if possible).
Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
Must be familiar with Omni's systems and procedures.
Respond to all requests.
Assist engineers and mechanics as needed with repairs.
Keep all work areas clean.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a commercial painter required, hotel experience preferred.
Must be able to brush, roll, spray, and work on different textures.
Must be able to patch, float and repair damaged surfaces.
Must be able to work with stains, lacquers, varnishes, epoxy and Bondo.
Must be able to apply caulk.
Must be willing to work based on business and occupancy levels.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Must be able to interact and communicate with the hotel guests.
Move, bend, lift, carry, crawl, squat, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
Must work indoors and outdoors including during extreme weather conditions.
May be asked to be part of "ride-out" crew during severe weather events.
Must be able to work using ladders, scissors, and aerial lifts.
Tools and Equipment:
Painting/finishing tools and equipment, ladder, telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine and push to talk radio
Working Environment:
Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Requires repetitive motion, including utilizing telephone/computer for an extended period or for an entire shift.
