Position Summary

Worthington Steel is seeking a highly organized Maintenance Crib Attendant to support the Maintenance Department by managing maintenance inventory, ensuring critical spare parts are available, and providing outstanding service to maintenance personnel to maximize equipment reliability and plant uptime.

The ideal candidate has experience in inventory management, parts distribution, or industrial supply and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where organization, accuracy, and customer service are essential.

Schedule & Pay
-Full-time position with overtime available
-Must be willing to work off-shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
-Shifts: 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, 3:00 PM-11:00 PM, 11:00 PM-7:00 AM
-Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage daily maintenance crib operations.
  • Receive, stock, issue, and organize maintenance parts and supplies.
  • Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Create purchase requisitions and purchase orders in Oracle.
  • Purchase MRO materials from approved vendors.
  • Coordinate outside repairs and track repair status.
  • Process maintenance parts requests accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory records using Oracle, Excel, and other inventory systems.
  • Work with Maintenance, Purchasing, Operations, and vendors to ensure critical spare parts availability.
  • Research obsolete or replacement parts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe crib.
  • Assist with physical inventories, audits, and continuous inventory improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and customer service.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
  • Oracle or ERP experience preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and off-shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an industrial maintenance storeroom, manufacturing inventory control, industrial distributor, heavy equipment parts department, or auto parts environment.
  • Experience with inventory management, cycle counting, Oracle or other ERP systems, and purchasing MRO materials.
  • Working knowledge of bearings, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic components, belts, chains, sprockets, sensors, fasteners, and electrical components.
  • Ability to identify and source replacement maintenance parts.

Preferred Certifications

  • ASCM/APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • ASCM/APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • ASE Parts Specialist Certification
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
