Overview

Within SSOE's Tool Install division, we specialize in delivering, designing, and engineering of complex process equipment across semiconductor fabs and advanced manufacturing facilities. Our team is composed of highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals who excel across various disciplines. We pride ourselves on our cross-disciplinary approach, which allows us to understand and address our clients' needs more comprehensively than traditional, siloed methods. What sets us apart is our ability to seamlessly conceptualize, plan, and detail every aspect of design. Our in-house experts collaborate closely, optimizing and enhancing our work through multi-discipline strategy sessions. By leveraging cutting-edge techniques and state-of-the-art software, we deliver industry-leading technology and innovative solutions from day one.

The Electrical Engineer on our pre-assignment team will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the integrity of our electrical pre-assignment database that supports equipment design across multidisciplinary industrial and process facilities. This role works closely with other disciplines to validate the electrical point of connection (POC) locations and capacity allocations as dictated by evolving layout revisions, tool specifications, and supplier equipment data. Utilizing AutoCAD, you will verify electrical load calculations consistent with NEC standards to ensure compliance and safety. Your contributions will support not only design accuracy but also timely package turnover and construction startup, reinforcing our commitment to quality and safety protocols.

AI and Innovation

At SSOE, we don't just talk about the future, we build it. As a leader in industry AI adoption, we empower our team to work smarter by providing responsible access to the industry leading AI Large Language Models, vibe-coding platforms, and securely integrating advanced tools into every role. From day one, you'll receive the training and support needed to leverage AI as a core tool for enhancing productivity, sparking creativity, and streamlining complex workflows.

Responsibilities

Maintain completeness and accuracy of the electrical pre-assignment database by integrating data from updated layouts, new supplier documentation, and facilities installations.
  • Analyze changes to point of connection (POC) locations and load capacity impacts, applying NEC code requirements and standards for system integrity and protective device coordination.
  • Coordinate with project teams to align electrical POC and capacity needs with phased installation schedules, flagging and escalating gaps or inconsistencies to discipline leads in a timely manner.
  • Review equipment datasheets, vendor submittals, and shop drawings to validate electrical requirements and update pre-assignment data accordingly in AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to assess the impact of tool scope changes on electrical distribution systems, ensuring seamless integration from pre-design through construction administration.
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination meetings with PMs, contractors, suppliers, and field engineers to support risk mitigation strategies and manage change control processes within the electrical discipline.
  • Conduct QA/QC checks of electrical documentation and pre-assignment entries to confirm adherence to all applicable regulatory codes and project-specific standards.
  • Maintain documentation and change logs to support traceability and audit readiness in adherence to internal quality management systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the pre-assignment database workflows and increase cross-discipline collaboration efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD for electrical drafting and Bluebeam for document review and markup workflows.
  • Familiarity with electrical load calculations, single-line diagram interpretation, and point-of-connection analysis.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in A&E or industrial engineering design environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented approach to data management, QA/QC processes, and change control documentation.
  • Salary Range: $68,000 - $90,000/year depending on location, education, depth of relevant experience, and any specialized licensure/certifications. Opportunity for ample rewards, leadership incentive components, and generous bonus opportunities.
  • Benefits: Includes comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401K retirement savings plan (with company matching), opportunities for professional development and training (including support for relevant licensure & certifications), and generous PTO & paid holidays.

Join us at SSOE, where your expertise will thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment dedicated to pushing the boundaries of design and engineering excellence.
