Job Description

Responsibilities

Manages all student records for the College of Arts and Sciences and analyzes student success data for the college; monitors student progress towards graduation and designs/coordinates early interventions; develops and oversees student success and retention initiatives; manages graduation lists and oversees student success mapping; directs and develops CAS student cohorts, including pre-law, pre-health; tracks program and policy changes and updates colleagues; serves as resource to college faculty. Carries a significant advising load and resolves complex student issues.

Characteristic Duties

  • Manages and analyzes student records and success data for the college; regularly presents findings to the deans, department chairs, and the advising office
  • Identifies potential hurdles and develops and oversees early interventions, especially for gateway courses in the college; oversees student success mapping
  • Develops and implements student success and retention initiatives
  • Manages graduation lists and conducts graduation workshops
  • Directs and develops CAS student cohorts, including pre-law and pre-health; directs students to co-curricular opportunities such as internships
  • Tracks curricular and policy changes and updates faculty and professional advisors; Serves as advising resource to college faculty
  • Carries a significant advising load and addresses complex student issues; collaborates with admissions and evaluates transcripts in complex transfer situations; explains available degree pathways to students; works with students who are still exploring and guides them towards goal setting and timely selection of major field of study
  • Examines advising procedures and ensures that they align with professional best practices and function properly within the office and the campus advising community; pursues updates and improvements to support efficiency, productivity, and compliance
    Monitors program requirement changes and communicates to appropriate individuals and groups; explains complex information to others
Shift

40 hours/week, Monday-Friday

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

MA and 5-7 years of experience in academic advising, coaching, or related field

Anticipated Hiring Range

$64,000-$69,000
