Position Summary The Quality Technician inspects all production parts to ensure that proper specifications are met prior to shipment. This position offer suggestions and feedback to production cells on how quality guidelines can and should be met to satisfy Parker Meggitt and/or customer standards and requirements. Responsibilities Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Inspects parts visually to ensure all proper specifications are met prior to shipment
- Uses provided equipment to measure parts to ensure proper dimensions and other specifications are met
- Inputs inspection results into SAP system
- Tests parts with provided equipment to ensure that they meet quality specifications
- Utilizes drawings and templates to determine quality standards when evaluating parts
- Communicates quality issues with appropriate personnel as soon as an issue is detected
- Documents quality related issues as required
- Conducts receiving inspections and work station audits when needed
- Issues discrepancy reports and corrective action requests
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager
Qualifications Qualifications:
A high school diploma, GED, or proven proficiency in basic reading, writing, and math in English is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is desired A combination of relevant education and experience can be considered in lieu of exact educational and/or experience requirements - Prior experience and/or training in understanding and handling drawings is desired
Prior experience in quality assurance or control is preferred Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office is required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrates and maintains a professional demeanor in all situations Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all internal and external customers and employees Ability to communicate in English and Spanish is desired Ability to interpret and understand work orders as well as mechanical and technical drawings, manuals, and other related documentation Ability to perform workplace math skills, such as measurements and adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing whole numbers with or without decimals and fractions Ability to prioritize competing commitments in line with departmental objectives Ability to learn and retain acquired knowledge through onsite, offsite, and on-the-job trainings Displays a positive attitude toward safety practices and procedures to insure personal safety and the safety of others, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
